TRAVELLER's FAQ

FIND ANSWERS OR ASK US
1How about the check-in and check-out times? Is it possible to leave our luggage in the apartment?

The standard check-in time is from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

In case of late check-in, please make sure that the apartment you are booking has the "Contactless Check-in" service available. If the self check-in is not available for that specific apartment, please note that an additional cost will apply (ranging from €30 to €90), depending on the arrival time. Do not hesitate to contact us if you need clarification; we always try to reply within a few minutes.

If you need to leave your luggage before the check-in time (starting from 11:30 AM/12:00 PM), please send us a request as soon as possible, as it is only possible in some apartments. If it’s not possible or if you are arriving early in the morning, we recommend booking a Bounce luggage storage at this link (includes a discount).

The check-out time is by 10:30/11:00 AM. The cleaning staff will arrive to clean the apartment at 10:30/11:00 AM on the day of departure.

It is not possible to leave your luggage in the apartment or postpone the check-out time, unless previously agreed.

2How do we collect the keys to access the apartment? Is there a reception area available?

Please note that the accommodations offered are private apartments and we do not have a reception.

Some apartments require an in-person check-in, so it is essential to know your expected arrival time in advance in order to coordinate our staff for your check-in. In case of any delays, it is important to inform us promptly to avoid possible inconveniences or waiting times.

If a self check-in is provided, with access starting from 3:00 PM, you naturally enjoy greater flexibility. In this case, we kindly ask you to let us know your check-in time only to make sure we are available to assist you promptly in case of any difficulty accessing the apartment.

3How can I get to the city center from the airport? What is the duration of the journey?

To reach the city centre from Milan’s airports, you have several options depending on your arrival airport.

If you land at Malpensa Airport, you can take the Malpensa Express train to Milano Cadorna or Milano Centrale stations, or opt for a direct shuttle bus to Milano Centrale Station, which takes about 1 hour.

Similarly, if you arrive at Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport, you can take a shuttle bus to Milano Centrale Station, with a travel time of around 1 hour.

These shuttles depart every 20 minutes, and fares usually range from €10 to €12 per adult, while children benefit from discounted rates.

From Linate Airport, you can choose between a taxi, a bus, or a shuttle service, which usually takes about 30 minutes to reach the city centre. The M4 blue metro line also connects directly from Linate.

4How can I get tickets for public transport?

You can purchase tickets at newsstands, tobacconists, and directly at the underground stations.
You can also use contactless credit cards on public transport: by tapping your card on the reader for each journey, the best fare will be automatically charged.
The ATM Journey Planner can be useful for estimating journey times to explore the city by underground, tram, or bus.
For discounts on public transport (and museums), we recommend the Milano Card.

9Driving in Milan: AREA B and AREA C access

If you’re arriving by car, please note that Milan has some restrictions related to pollution control:

🚗 AREA B covers almost the entire city. There is no entry fee, but it restricts access to older vehicles.
If your car is not recent, check if it is allowed to enter through this link.

🏙️ AREA C includes Milan’s historic city centre and requires an entry fee from Monday to Friday, between 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM.
More information available here.

If you’re not using one of the recommended paid parking lots, you can find many municipal street parkings around the apartment.
They are marked by blue lines (⚠️ do not use the yellow ones, reserved for residents).

To pay for blue-line parking, we recommend these apps:
EasyPark, Telepass Pay, MyCicero.

10Waste sorting

In Milan, waste sorting is mandatory, and failure to comply with the rules may result in heavy fines.

You can find all the instructions at this link.

11How much is the Milan Tourist Tax? Why should I pay this extra?

For private apartments, the tourist tax rate has been €6.30 per adult per night since January 2025, and it is always excluded from the rental fee. For further information, please visit the website of the Municipality of Milan.

If you booked via Airbnb, please note that there is an agreement between the platform and the Municipality of Milan, so you have already paid this tax and nothing should be paid upon your arrival.

12And if I need more information?

We are at your disposal — don’t hesitate to ask! If you’ve already made a reservation, within a week before your arrival you’ll receive a detailed message with all the useful information about public transport, parking, Wi-Fi, and everything you need for a comfortable stay.
